Important Spring Updates

Hello Kutztown Animal Hospital family!

We wanted to wish you a happy spring and give you some updates;

As of April 2021 we are still using curbside care BUT with a few new options to make communicating with us easier for you.  

  • You now have the option to text directly with us during your appointment and before or after!  The number is 610-679-9431.  This is monitored closely while we are in the office so you get a fast response!  Send us questions, updates and even photos of your pet if they are having a problem so we can see what’s going on!  We are here for you!

  • We have a new app Pet Health Network Pro (download on Apple App Store or Google Play).  This app allows you to view your pet’s health records including vaccine due dates etc., request appointments, request prescription refills and MORE!

  • You can always email us at as well.

  • We are now sending out either a text or email a few days before your appointment with a pre-appointment SURVEY about your pet(s) coming into the office.  This is a great way for you to communicate all the important details the doctor will need to know in order to help your pet in the best way during their visit.  It will also help YOU to not forget to tell us things that are important to you.

  • We have a telephone prescription line option you can choose  when you call to leave your prescription requests if you don’t have the app.

This is the flow of a curbside visit:

  1. Text or call us when you arrive

  2. We will come to your car and take your pet inside (if they are in a carrier we may have you place the carrier just inside the lobby).

  3. You will be called or texted so that you can tell us any specific needs and so that we can ask you questions about your pet.

  4. During this time, Dr. McMahon will be spending time with your pet, doing her exam and any tests needed.  Communication will be going straight to you to keep you informed while you are waiting in the comfort of your car.

  5. When the doctor is finished, you have several options of payment as we prepare to bring your pet back to you:


  • Credit Card - We are set up to be able to take your payment over the phone with a credit card.  No information is stored anywhere - your payment is processed directly with the credit card system.

  • Care Credit - If you have a Care Credit account, you can download their app on your phone OR go to our website and look for Care Credit for Payment  under the “links” section (it is the last entry).  When you are ready to pay and connected to the Care Credit system via the app or their website, we will tell you your account number and the amount to pay and voila it will come straight to us from the comfort of your car.

  • Check - If we have your driver's license number we are able to take a check.  We will let you know the amount due and will take your check when we bring your pet out.

  • Cash - Yes we still do take cash and we promise not to sneeze on your change if you don’t sneeze on what you give us. =)

  • We also want you to know that we understand that economics can be difficult these days so always feel free to ask for an estimate ahead of time. We are happy to provide you the information you need.  We can even try to space out some of your pets needs throughout the year to lighten the financial load coming at one time. Just chat with us any time!

We greatly appreciate your help and patience in these crazy times!  Dr. McMahon is the only doctor serving at the practice right now and she is working very hard to make sure your pet is receiving the best of care.  It’s a busy time of year for all and we are currently booking a few weeks ahead so if you need an appointment try to call us with as much advance notice as possible. You and your pets are the heart and soul of our family practice and we are so thankful for you!  We look forward to hearing from you!
